Amla is also known as Nelli or Indian gooseberry. It is a tropical plant. It is known for having strong medicinal properties. Its fruits are used to make a variety of medicines. Amla-derived medications treat fever, sores, diarrhea, toothaches, and anemia. The best source of vitamin C is in fruits. Amla's green fruits can also be used to make pickles. It is a branching tree with glabrous branches that grows to an average height of 10-15 feet. Amala plants begin bearing fruit after 3-4 years of growth.

Soil: Light and medium-heavy soils, Avoid sandy soil. The tree can grow on moderately alkaline soils and is well suited to dry climates. It requires Ph of soil ranging from 6.5 to 9.5.

  • The mature plants can withstand freezing temperatures as well as high temperatures of up to 46 degrees Celsius.

Irrigation: In the summer, young plants need to be watered at intervals of 15 days until they are well-established. During the summer, watering bearing plants at biweekly intervals is recommended. Avoid irrigation during the flowering period.

Sunlight: It can tolerate some shade but prefer a sunny site.
